Religious monuments of Volodymyrets and Zarichne districts in Rivne region
There are many historical and architectural monuments.
The palace of Krasitsky in Volodymyrets was built in the XIX century in Empire style (appeals to the traditions of ancient Rome). During the times of Russian Empere the Krasitsky were living in this estate. And under the plish rule there was the residence manager of Volodymyrets and Gorodetsk department of distillery and agricultural production. With the advent of the Communism, the palace - Rome's greatness - had become the storage for agricultural products.
Also in Volodymyrts posesses an excellent example of wooden architecture - Holy Assumption Church (XIX century). Wooden church (with the foundation stone) in the form of - a cross with seven bells in the belltower.
The church of St. Dmitry in village Sernyky (Zarichne District) is also very nice.
This church was built in 1821 just with a tree (without a single iron nail). We also recommend to see the sanctuary inside: ancient religious ritual things, beautiful wall paintings and iconostasis.
An interesting example of Polissya architecture is St. Nicholas' Church of the Archangel Michael in the Vychivka village (also in Zarichne district). The temple was built in 1837 at the expense of the local landowner - Skyrmunt.
Tourists who are interested in ancient architecture and, especially, Volyn wooden architecture of XVIII-XX century should visit such shrines: Saint Nicholas' Church of the XIX century. (Voronky village), St. Nicholas' Church of the XIX century (Gorodets village), churches in villages: Ostriv, Polyci, Ozero, Stara Rafalivka.
